C18 Liverpool Traces of old Liverpool's original docks can still be tracked on the ground and a few of the churches and buildings remain, but mainly all you can see is parts of the road plan. Yet, there are relatively abundant documentary sources for the eighteenth century in Liverpool, although few are readily accessible digitally. It is the intent of this web page to make available some digital records from the eighteenth century, for Liverpool in particular, but also for a few other places, and increasingly other data sources for the period as well (2009).

Toxteth Cemetery Toxteth Park Cemetery is situated in Smithdown Road, Liverpool. Unfortunately, in recent years, a lot of the gravestones and monuments have fallen into a state of disrepair and many have been removed. Before they disappear completely it is about time that inscriptions are recorded so that future generations of family historians can access the information contained on them.
Anfield Cemetery Anfield Cemetery is one of the largest cemetries in Europe, and is situated close to both football grounds in Liverpool. There are over 300 Memorial Inscriptions online in an easy to search format. There are also burial records taken from the Burial Registers.
St Chad's, Kirkby St. Chad's, Kirkby. This lovely church is located in Kirkby in the Diocese of Liverpool. According to a stone cross set up in 1875 in the church grounds, the first chapel may have been built on this site in 870 A.D. The present church was consecrated in 1871 and the oldest date discovered on a grave so far is 1698 for the burial of Thomas Asp, "a benefactor to Kirkby"
MI's St Peter's Church, Woolton Prior to the beginning of the 19th Century the population of Woolton used the nearby All Saints Church in Childwall. However as the population expanded in the early 1800's the need for a larger and more local church arose. On July 22nd 1825 the future 13th Earl of Derby laid the foundation stone of St Peter's Church, which was opened in 1826.The Parish was formed in 1828 when the Rev. Robert Leicester became the first incumbent, first as Vicar then in 1868 as Rector. Although additions were made to the original building it became inadequate for the needs of the parishioners of Woolton and a new church was built on the site and opened in 1887. The new neo-Gothic style church replaced the previous Grecian style building. It has a tower at the south-east containing a ring of eight bells. Among the graves found in the old part of the graveyard is that of the first Vicar and Rector of St Peter's, Rev. Robert Leicester. Also to be found is the grave of Eleanor Rigby who inspired the Beatles song of the same name
